Dean Guitars are especially popular with metal players, and their popularity rose with the return of Dimebag Darrell in 2004, guitarist for Pantera and Damageplan. Dean offers over 30 different Dimebag models today. Other world famous artists that play Dean guitars exclusively are Vinnie Moore, Dave Mustaine, Glen Drover, Leslie West, Michael Schenker, Michael Amott, Uli Jon Roth, Eric Peterson, Karl Sanders, Tracii Guns, Michael Angelo Batio. Dean guitars is responsible for building the famous four neck guitar for Michael Angelo Batio. The company is best known for their line of electric guitars that include the ML, Cadillac, Splittail, Soltero, EVO, Custom Zone, Hardtail, Vendetta, Z and the Dean V as well as the Deceiver and multiple signature models such as numerous Dimebag Darrell models including some ML's and his own original shape the Razorback, a variation of the ML and V shapes, also, Dave Mustaine's VMNT and Zero, the Michael Schenker and Schenker Brothers V's, the Leslie West guitar, a variation on the Soltero, the Michael Angelo Batio signature "MAB" series of Superstrats, the Michael Amott Tryrant, and many others. Also, in recent time, Dean has announced on the signing of Bret Michaels and will be unavailing his signature models at NAMM 2011 The company's bass guitar models include the Demonator, Edge, Razorback V, ML, V, Z, EVO, Spire, Cadillac, and Custom Zone. Dean Guitars offers over 50 different acoustics as well. In addition to the traditional acoustic instrument shapes, like the Exotica, the Performer, and the Tradition Dean also has acoustic versions of their ML and V electric guitars. Also, Dean produces a signature acoustic model for Dave Mustaine called the Mako. In 2007, Dean Guitars began producing their own pickups in their USA facility called Dean DMT. Dean guitars manufactures artist pickups in their USA plant for Schenker, West, Angelo, Amott, Moore and others. At the 2009 NAMM trade show, they unveiled the new Dime Blacktooth amplifier, which is a recreation of Dime's favorite amp that he played in Pantera for over 12 years. It was released to the public in early 2010. The 20-watt combo version kept the Blacktooth name, but the head and cabinet version were renamed the Dean Dimebag D100 and D412.
